Innovation Agenda

At long last, a 21st century government that is more open and effective; leverages technology to grow the economy, create jobs, and solve our country’s most pressing problems; respects the integrity of and renews our commitment to science; and catalyzes active citizenship and partnerships in shared governance with civil society institutions.

We are still awaiting the announcement of our Nation’s first Chief Technology Officer.

It’s refreshing to see our new administration embracing change and enabling innovation, because you never know where new ideas will spring from.

 Cyberchondria

The Web is an extremely useful resource in many fields of study, but when it comes to medical diagnostics please remember,  moderation in all things.

Cyberchondria is digital hypochondria, it happens when you search on the Web for Headache and click on brain tumor.

This story is more about human nature then artificial intelligence, hopefully we will be able to build systems that will take into account the probability of the worst of our fears.

Innovation

As the World economy is spiraling down it’s easy to spot the innovators, their the optomistists who see an opportunity to try something new. Corporations need to invest in Research and Development to save money on taxes, but can they see beyond the products and services they produce today? Most of the time innovation comes from a fresh source, a creative individual who has an idea and sees a new way of solving a problem.

We need innovation and we need it today!
